Segregation, Inequality and Exclusion
DEI, is traditionally called Diversity, Equity & Inclusion .A quick search on Google found this definition of the opposite of DEI.
Because of the crappy “education” in our government & union schools, all the way from kindergarten thru college, 75% of companies nationwide are NOT satisfied with recent graduates and their education.
Half the companies cite a lack of motivation while 40% cite poor communication skills. Specifically they state that schools “are producing graduates unprepared for the workforce and unable to handle the demands of the job.”
You want more proof:
20% of Gen Z voters say Hitler had “some good ideas.”
70% of Gen Z voters have “climate anxiety”
Most Gen Z voters can tell you how bad the US is.
I happen to think, if we don’t turn this around WE ARE DOOMED!
Today’s young people can tell you all these things by heart, but if you ask them to explain or define anything, you will be called a “racist.” (Pretty sure a racist is a bubba who used to drive hot rods moving booze during prohibition!)
I could go on for hours with example after example, but I won’t bore you with the gory details.
Above, I said we could be doomed, but there are small signs that things could be turning around!
A small public charter school of 300 hundred students at Mountain middle school in Western Colorado is one of the leaders of this movement. About 12 years ago the principal had this crazy idea that if students weren’t allowed to have their phones with them during school hours, student performance might increase. Oh my, if they had to listen to Math, English and Science lessons in school. Well, by golly, over the past 12 years the school is now the top performer in the state.
Even better news is California, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia have now passed laws prohibiting the student use of phones during instruction time. Similar laws are pending in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico.
So, the good news appears to be that some people are actually waking up to the fact that education is important and if we continue to graduate functional illiterates from our schools, we are doomed as a country.
