The weather as metaphor was a fun, and apt, way to look at the forces shaping the US, and the rest of the world right now. One thing about weather - even Bill Gates now understands this - is that it is always changing and the most we lesser mortals can do is adapt and mitigate. Those of us outside the US understand that your weather will soon be ours one way or another. Take care!

It isn’t just the redistricting the insane thing right now is the halting of gas natural gas as a fuel source

Starting in a year or so, you won’t be able to get a pool heater that uses natural gas and a percentage of that has to be solar powered and you talk about a affordability and natural gas is affordable, even though PG&E is increasing the price as we speak, but electricity can be turned on and off and restricted —Natural gas doesn’t have that —you’re not beholden to the power grid . unless we move towards nuclear energy, it’s going to be a totally unaffordable state

The weather metaphor really does capture how much of this shift is driven by movement, not argument. People are voting with their feet, and the pressure systems are changing whether we like it or not. It’s less about red vs. blue and more about what people feel they can no longer tolerate in their daily lives.

Sure is good to see another person who "gets it." There are a few of us out there with enough brain cells to see thru the darkness. Thank you for your input nicole!

Any U-Haul leaving California is totally replaced by an illegal ballot collected

After the passage of prop 50 in CA, I am seriously thinking about moving out of the state. As the state purges the few remaining Republican representatives in both Sacramento and DC, I'm afraid things could become very bad for conservatives, particularly those in the red rural areas of the state.

When you leave, don't come to Colorado if you are looking for any conservative bent on things. Best of luck to you!

Doesn't the wind flow from high-pressure zones to low-pressure zones? ;)

I was wondering about the source of your data for migration between states. Is this from the U-Haul survey?

Yes you are correct, wind does flow from High to Low pressure, but in this case it is completely the opposite. The data is from Voter Registrations state by state, not U-Haul survery. I would though, think that the U-Haul data would show almost the same results. I have not looked at it though!
