I wasn’t planning to write this. I wasn’t planning to light my keyboard on fire today. But then I glanced at the news and bam another round of “what the hell happened to this country” punched me right in the gut. So here we are. You, me, and a nation sprinting toward the moral cliff like it’s handing out free iPhones at the bottom.

Let’s just say it. America didn’t lose its moral compass. It threw it into a wood chipper, lit the pieces on fire, and called it progress.

Open any news site. Go ahead. I’ll wait. You’ll get hit in the face with a tidal wave of horror, stupidity, and apathy. Another lunatic lights someone on fire in a subway. Another judge pats him on the head and sends him off with a juice box and no bail. Another politician gets caught shoveling taxpayer money into their personal piggy bank and what do we do? Nothing. Not a damn thing.

We scroll. We shrug. We say, “Well, that’s just how it is now.”

No. That’s not how it is. That’s how we’ve allowed it to become.

We’re living in a country where the criminal is the victim and the victim better shut up before someone calls them intolerant. Steal from a store? Eh, just keep it under a thousand bucks, buddy. Burn someone alive on public transit? Oh, well, you know, mental health and all. And let’s not forget the screaming banshees filming it all on their phones, yelling about “rights” while the rest of us are clutching our pepper spray and praying we make it home without ending up on the evening news.

What happened to consequences?

What happened to shame?

What happened to the basic idea that if you screw over your fellow man, you pay the price?

And don’t even get me started on the judicial clown show. Judges tossing criminals back onto the streets faster than you can say “repeat offender” with zero blowback. Because when you’re wearing a robe and a smirk, you can play god without ever having to live in the neighborhood you’re nuking. That’s for us schmucks.

Meanwhile, the moral cheerleaders of this idiocy; the ones who sob for the arsonist but spit on the firefighter; keep electing more of the same. People who treat law-abiding citizens like the enemy, and actual criminals like misunderstood puppies.

You want to know why we’ve got school shootings, skyrocketing theft, unhinged lunatics treating highways like NASCAR tracks? Simple. We broke the contract. The one that says, “Be decent, or face the music.” And we replaced it with a participation trophy and a therapist.

We gutted discipline. We defunded backbone. And yeah we booted G-d right out of the classroom, the courthouse, and pretty much every place where moral grounding used to live. And don’t come at me with the “not religious” disclaimer. I’m not talking about pews and hymnals. I’m talking about common sense. A higher code. A damn spine.

The country didn’t just wake up like this one day. We let it rot. Inch by inch. Excuse by excuse. Until now the stench is inescapable and everyone’s too nose-blind to notice.

So here we are. Surrounded by theft, violence, and elected cockroaches stuffing their faces while America burns. And the rest of us? We’re just trying to get to work without being mugged by a TikTok influencer with a crowbar and an attitude.

It’s not mean to want safety. It’s not cruel to demand consequences. It’s not radical to expect basic decency.

It’s common sense. Or at least it used to be.

Time to stop pretending this is normal. Time to say the quiet parts out loud. And time to make decency loud again.

Before we lose what little is left.

So if you’re reading this and nodding along, good. You’re not crazy. You’re not alone. You’re part of the last standing line of people who still give a damn. And if we don’t start making noise, raising hell, and demanding a return to values that don’t require a PhD in victimology to explain, then buckle up. Because this freefall has no parachute.

Common sense isn’t dead. It’s just been beaten into a coma by activists, apathy, and cowards in suits. But maybe, just maybe, it’s time we stopped whispering and started shouting again.

The moral majority doesn’t need to be quiet anymore. It needs to roar.
