Trump Cleaned Up the Streets — and the Left Lost Their Minds
He did in 72 hours what local leaders haven’t done in 7 years. You’d think cleaning up a mess would be bipartisan — guess not.
Let me get this straight. Washington, D.C., a city where carjackings are up, drug markets run like swap meets, and residents lock their doors before the sun goes down, just got a federal intervention, and the pearl-clutching from Democrats is somehow about tone?
It seems to me that all along, Trump has been setting a big trap for the Democrats. And it seems to be working very well. They are so foolish that they don't even realize they've been had, and even worse... they have put themselves into the position of defending crime and criminals. To me, that is rather ironic and I love watching this whole shit show.
President Trump ordered the National Guard to assist law enforcement in D.C., put the MPD under federal control, and cleared out over 70 homeless encampments that had turned public parks into open-air toilets. And suddenly we’re all supposed to gasp like Aunt Edna fainting at a church bake sale.
"This is un-American," tweeted Mayor Muriel Bowser, as if letting crime and chaos fester on your watch is some kind of patriotic virtue. Then came Nancy Pelosi, God bless her, tripping over her own sentences like a three-legged goat on roller skates. The woman couldn’t string together a coherent thought if you handed her a teleprompter and a double espresso.
Pelosi isn’t just out of touch, she’s out of time. A politician who can’t form a sentence has no business forming policy.
"I look forward to hearing what their purpose is," she said, apparently unaware that the purpose is right there on the streets, Nancy; gunshots, assaults, unsolved murders, and a homicide rate that makes New York look like Disneyland. But sure, let’s blame the troops.
And then MSNBC rolled out the usual chorus of professional pearl-clutchers. Mika Brzezinski muttered, "It’s a trap," like she just discovered politics yesterday. Meanwhile, Chris Matthews, in a moment of rare lucidity, actually told the truth; that D.C. is spiraling and pretending otherwise is pure fiction. Imagine that. A liberal admitting reality on live TV. Mark your calendars.
But the best comedy routine came when ICE got involved. Under a new executive order, D.C. cops can now notify ICE if they come across illegals during a traffic stop. Cue the outrage. Sanctuary city sympathizers clutched their NPR mugs and wailed about civil rights while ignoring the fact that yes, you do have to follow the law even if your Twitter bio says #NoHumanIsIllegal.
Let’s not forget that D.C. let noncitizens vote in local elections, which is like letting the away team call the plays. So when Trump applauded the new cooperation with ICE and called it a "great step," it wasn’t just politics, it was common sense wrapped in barbed wire and delivered with a bullhorn.
Funny how the loudest voices against the Guard live behind gates, not next to gunfire. Easy to romanticize chaos when it’s not breaking into your garage.
Meanwhile, the media is still trying to figure out if crime is actually down or just being cooked in the books. A police commander was suspended for allegedly fudging crime stats, so forgive the rest of us if we don’t buy the city’s "record low" numbers. You can’t have it both ways. Either D.C. is safe, and you don’t need the Guard, or it’s a mess, and you owe Trump a thank-you note.
Here’s the truth. Trump did what the D.C. elites couldn’t, or wouldn’t do. He acted. He didn’t wait for a task force, a committee, or a virtue-signaling op-ed. He called in the Guard, cleared the streets, and backed the cops. And that has every cocktail-sipping bureaucrat from Capitol Hill to Kalorama screaming about "authoritarianism,” because nothing terrifies them more than accountability with boots on the ground.
Thirty days of federal control? That’s barely enough time to put a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. But even that’s too long for the people who prefer ribbon-cutting ceremonies over real solutions.
These are the same people who cried “dictator” when Trump cleared a park but cheered when mayors let cities burn in 2020. Spare us the selective outrage. Your credibility died with the arson insurance claims.
This isn’t about Trump being perfect. It’s about someone finally standing up and saying, enough. Enough crime. Enough excuses. Enough letting America’s capital look like a post-apocalyptic movie set while the people in charge argue over pronouns and parade permits.
I don’t think I'm wrong.
That's how much they are stricken with TDS that they would rather be positioned as the party which is pro-crime than to stand on the same side as Trump.
Sunny, Fabulous article as you are 💯 spot on.
